I am planing to visit Dubai this Friday for few days.
If any can give price advice for the followings:

Motorola mpx300
Nokia 7710
Samsung d500
I-mate Jam

another question, where would u recommend I buy it? is it better to get it in the Duty free or Locally, and if locally where ?

Sorry for the lengthy query and thank you for any advice.

Cheers.

Hi Edoardo,

Welcome to PPCD.

The MPx300 (MPx) is not available in the Middle-East yet, so i cannot give u any info on its pricing. It shud be approximately around $900 when available.

The Nokia 7700 is also not available here in the Middle-East yet. The price should be around $700 when available as this is the retail price in Asian countries. In Dubai there is a gross difference between the suggested retail price (SRP) and the actual Market price. For instance, althought the value of the Nokia 7710 shud be around $700, it will start with a price of $850 and over a few months will slide down to $700.

About Samsung D500, i will check and tell you....

The Imate JAM is now available freely all over Dubai for a price of AED 2650. Our sponsors Gadgetsworld also offer the Jam at a cheaper price. Last i saw, the price they quoted was AED 2580 which is a fairly good price.

U can buy the device from the duty free or locally as the warranty is the same in both of them. Only thing is that the prices are more expensive in the Duty Free as compared to local prices.

Ball is in your court now.

Hi Docc,
Im going back to Dubai 1st week of February from vacation. Do you how much is the price of Smartphone2 in Dubai.
Smartphone2
Here in our country it's only about DH1100. Complete with all accessories( CD, USB cradle,headset). Is it advisable for me to buy here in our country or is it ok to buy in Dubai. Thank you very much.

@Kumar,

Yea it has been released officially in Asia.

@Joev,

The smartphone2 has been discontinued here in Dubai. But there are a lot of local places where u could purchase it from. The price should be around the same as u mentioned as the new Smartphone from Imate is for AED 1500.

It costs $806, but its not the Qtek 9090, here in the Middle-East, it comes under the Imate brand....called Imate PDA2k.

Our sponsor should be able to send it to u. u can drop them a line at info@gadgetsworld.ae.
