Having lot of problems connecting to the net through my secured Etisalat wifi connection. My laptop works fine with it, but my brand new HTC Touch Elf seems to be incompatible or something. Etisalat refuses to help, HTC says it's not a problem from their end - even contacted Siemens, the company that made the router. They advised me to de-encrypt the network. Let me know if anything similar has cropped up elsewhere, and if you managed to solve it.

Hi Slysatya,
Welcome to PPCD! We hope you enjoy your stay here Can you elaborate a little more? What exactly is the message that you get when trying to connect to your network? Also, have you tried connecting to another wireless network? This helps is localizing the issue, so would be really helpful to know. Also, this is something i've faced myself once before. Solution? Turn of password protection on your wireless network. It isn't the best solution but it worked. Please feel free to let us if you were able to solve or localize the issue. We'll figure a solution out! Regards, Docc. |

As Docc said, if you could give more details about the messages or any one the screen, it will be easy for us to help.
My way of connecting will be... Switch on the Wifi... in few seconds it will show the Router for connection... Select my Router... it will prompt for password... after giving the password... it will be 100% connected in 5-6 seconds Hope this helps :-) |
