The following changes I have implemented to enhance MobilityDubai Forums and to enable us update network sites more frequently:

1) No more front page archives:

Previously the Editors used to publish the same topic twice, on the forums and on the front page. After I have created separate network sites I have also separated the forums. I know it is a big change especially that the forums are the main source of our contents but we need to do this to enhance the way we publish content using state-of-the-art software. Now the front page archive can be accessed from the front page itself. Members can reply to news and articles also on the front page itself. In the coming few days I will rename, merge and relocate some forums and try to make all the forums open to everyone. At the moment you can visit the front page archive here.

Just to clarify, we are using a separate registration system for each network site, also a separate registration system for the forums. Mainly because each network site handles different content category separately however the forums combine them and I don’t want to create a separate community for each network site. A single large community makes it easier to manage and easier to find what you are looking for and communicate with a larger audience.

The following are the main features in using the forums:
1) Post new topics and replies
2) Personalized with adding images, bold/italic/colored text, smilies, quotes, etc…
3) Several sections and categories such as Buy & Sell, etc…
4) Feature rich Photo Album
5) Access to files library
6) Chat (we consider adding this soon)
7) Also a great place to meet people, and many more…

On the other hand, when you register to any of the network sites you gain access to reply to news and articles on the front page, I will study all the possibilities to add more value added features such as a Buyer Guide and so on…


2) Community Statistics Removed

Due to increased spam I have changed the registration system to have new accounts activated, I should’ve done this very early but I wanted to make the registration process as easy as possible, due to this the member count (which appear in the statistics column) will drastically drop because very few members have optionally activated their accounts, now I made it mandatory and the forum software cannot display the correct number of total registered members. I will work on fixing this so I will remove community statistics from the bottom of the page until I find a solution. You can access the full member list of the community forums here. I will also clean up the footer to make page loading faster on the forums.
