Sorry, Guys, just can't keep my mouth shut about this any longer! It's been eating at me for days and days now...

The public outcry and Congressional voting regarding DP World IS NOT representative of the majority of Americans, and strikes a blow to the hopes and future of millions of people.

There are many of us who very strongly dissagree with these actions.

Sorry to break the rules, it's just that this is such a hige dissapointment.

Don't worry the UAE is far to level headed and diplomatic to react to such a strange ruling that is not even supported by President Bush.

The UAE is far more aware of the world affairs than your congressmen

Did you see the recent news, US only just realised they have no world wide shipping companies they are all foriegn
The contacted company that delivers all fuel/arms to US navy is a european company.
I think the average American has no idea how much is owned and run by foriegners in the US thats what free trade is about until they realise by whom.

You're right, most Americans have no idea at all.

Our Congresscritters only care about getting re-elected and getting their bribes...which is how all this got started. A small company in Florida that operates a small portion of a small port "donated" a huge amount of money to a certain congresscritter and his political cronies. Then this congresscritter complained and wanted special hearings on DPW. The left wing media plastered it on every front page in the Country and voila`... a national scandal was born. I'll bet any amount of money that this same company gets a government loan or grant to finance them in taking over some ports.

But, then, one of the lefties worst nightmares will occur...Haliburton/KBR will get the biggest contracts...as they are the only American company big enough, with any expertise at all, to take on this challenge.

But, I predict there will be more bad news for us because of this. I wish the UAE had fought for their RIGHT to do business here. There were so many factual points they could have won on.

What goes around, comes around! Although I fear the "comeuppance" is gonna' be a far greater price to pay. If what does happen is what I'm thinking might happen, you could be witness to the demise of America as the world once knew it.
