You have subscribed to GPRS with your sim previously ??

I consulted a nice and helping man whose number was given to me by Carrefour (where I bought my HTC from). He e-mailed the settings. His name is Faisal and his contact number is 050-4540584. The settings that he sent to me worked.

They are follows:

NEW GPRS (Internet) settings for Etisalat – UAE

Please note that Etisalat has changed the settings for the GPRS on the prepaid (wasel) and Postpaid (bill) SIM Cards, both of them are having the same configurations for the new subscribers.

(1) Start > Settings > Connections > Connections > Advanced > Select Networks.

(2) On the first field tap on New; insert Etisalat UAE for the name of the settings.

(3) Tap on Modem; then New.

(4) Insert the name of the connection to be Etisalat GPRS.

(5) Chose Cellular Line (GPRS, 3g) in the modem field.

(6) Next, then insert etisalat.ae in the Access point name field (one word and small letters).

(7) Tap on Next:
• User Name: etisalat.ae
• Password: etisalat.ae
Then tap on Finish.

MMS Settings for Etisalat – UAE

(1) Start > Settings > Connections > Connections > Advanced > Select Networks.

(2) On the first field tap on New; insert Etisalat MMS for the name of the settings.

(3) Tap on Modem; then New.

(4) Insert the name of the connection to be Etisalat MMS.

(5) Chose Cellular Line (GPRS, 3g) in the modem field.

(6) Next, then insert mms in the Access point name field (all small letters).

(7) Tap on Next:
• User Name: mms
• Password: mms
Then tap on Finish.

(8) Then tap on Ok, make sure that the selected networks are Mobily Internet for the first one and Mobily MMS for the second one as shown in the picture.

(9) Tap on Ok > Tasks, and make sure that you are getting the same of the following picture.

Then …

(10) Go to Start > Messaging > Menu > Tools > Options > MMS.

(11) Set the Photo resolution to VGA (640x480).

(12) Tap on Servers > Default.

(13) Fill in the fields as shown in the picture.

(14) Tap on Ok and you need to perform a soft reset.

It worked for me. I hope it does for others too.

I think thats a UAE number and Whasan is in Dubai

Actually the number should be removed as it's not nice to put possible private numbers here without consent

Indeed I am in Dubai and so is Faisal. However, I gave his number as his number was given by the outlet I bought my phone from and apparently this gentleman is for htc support. I will give his email address later.
