So what's the verdict about the 6.1 Upgrade? Go or No-go. Any problems I should know about before I take the plunge.

I did the upgrade on Friday night and since than using the device without any problem. Installed some software as well. The last I installed the Pocket Islam and worked fine. So no problems at all. Go ahead and upgarde I don't think there should be any problem.

Just make sure you have your operators setings/cab to hand as it's a generic WWE update and may not have etisalats settings etc, not tried myseld as I got the Diamond so been playing with that.

HI all - my 2 bit on this - the issue that Azhar had was also what I had - that the ROM download shown in your login is dependant on the serial no of the device registered online - if that is relevant to the arab keyboard ones, then only the update that azhar is seeing will show. I tried registering multiple devices until I got the 6.1 update ! Otherwise the XDA Developers forum have a link to this. The cool thing is that with the WWE rom, I get the visting card scanner software which was missing in the arabic rom !

Steve, is it possible and ok to down-grade to WM6.0 (the one available on e-club) from WM6.1 upgrade???

6.1 has a problem with having cleartype in landscape mode. There's a bug under which if you choose cleartype and then try to use the device in landscape with the keyboard, the menus are blanked out/garbled.

This alone is enough for me to want to go back to 6.0. So is it possible?

There should be no problem with a full install up or down but any back-ups for re-installing other personal/programs data should be from the same version preferably

Steve, I tried installing 6.0 but the installer aborted the process. It appears that it will not 'down-grade' !!??

So stuck with 6.1 for now
