Hi Guyz,

I have been trying to use my jasjam's wifi with my home's wireless internet connection,I have a siemens speedstream 6520.

When I try connecting to my wireless modem,my jasjam shows as connected to my speedstream, and i get a IP address from the modem, But when I try accessing websites, it tries to locate the website for a minute or so, and then gives me a website not found error, and asks me to check the name of the website and try again!!

Kindly help me out,and let me know what are the settings I should use on my modem and on my device to make it work.

cheers,
fassi.

Did the IP adress look like your pc ie 192.168.1.100 (note last 3 digits can typically be 1-200) check manual
255.255.255.0

etc etc mac address

As sometimes if it cant find the correct IP range it finds some strange one yet says it's connected

check the IP address of your PC (let it be 111.111.111.111)

You can access it as...

\\111.111.111.111\sharedfolder

but how do I try to access the shared drive?.

Use the network wizard to set up a small office network and change properties of eg my documents to a shared folder.

Then use file manager on your pda to map network drive /my documents
