Little know that HTC, makers of i-mate Pocket PC mobile phones and Smarphones, are also the makers of PalmOne' Treo 650 - I surely didn't!

High Tech Computer (HTC) began volume shipments of a new PDA phone model to PalmOne this month and is slated to enter mass shipments in October, according to market sources - surely Treo 650.
Along with increasing orders for its latest smartphone in Europe (SPV C500), both devices are likely to become key growth driver for the company in the fourth quarter of this year, indicated the sources.

HTC declined to comment on the report.

The PDA phone model, initially manufactured for PalmOne, is an upgraded version of the Treo600 PDA phone.

The Taiwan-based handheld device maker expects monthly revenues after September to grow sequentially through the end of this year. HTC generated revenues of NT$2.046 billion in August, up from its lowest revenues for the year so far of NT$2.038 in July. Accumulated revenues from January to August reached NT$19.065 billion, up 57.06% on-year.

With reference to this article by Denis, I think it is very possible to have HTC making the Treo 650. And HTC also could be owned by Bill Gate

who cares the T600 is the best smartphone on the planet and it just got better...


I only hope that the release one WITHOUT a camera..

Have you tried it NoBackUp? I am interested in getting a smartphone or a PPC Phone for my wife, but not the i-Mate PDA2k - thats for me
