I am going to purchase this device today and I want to write a review which is going to include a comparison with i-mate Jasjar. I’ve been a user of Jasjar since the day it was released and no doubt that it is a powerful Pocket PC Phone aimed at business users however I am missing something, Jasjar is aimed for business not for casual activities. This thought came to me when I was planning to go on vacation and I couldn’t imagine carrying Jasjar on the trip. I couldn’t settle down for a Smarphone it is just not for me, I am only interested in a WM Pocket PC based device, so I selected Atom Exec out of the currently released new devices. Would I miss the keyboard and the VGA screen on Jasjar? Would the new Atom Exec make my day? Do I need to have both device or I would dismiss one of them? I’ll post my opinions soon. mod

See you have caved in too like Docc and I except we went the smartflip route

So await your findings with extra interest as I prefered something a bit more different to save the direct comparision/frustration you may or not find

Sounds good Mohd! We look forward to it. Its quite a nice device, but offers less in comparison to devices in its form factor. I would have suggested that you get the HTC Trinity or even HTC Hermes as they are just about the same size and more power packed!

Look forward to your comments!

Docc.

I can safely say I don’t see any compromise in performance since it has a 520 MHz Intel Xscale and it has performed pretty well I nrecent benchmark results on another topic, I think it even outperformed i-mate Jasjam (HTC TyTN).

I know!! The only thing that I am not going with WM Smartphones, I’ve tried them and honestly don’t like them. WM PPC would be ideal with powerful applications which I cannot give up in addition to interface and usability. Now it would be nice to look for something which has more focus on multimedia.

I think you mean the HTC Trinity with a GPS, yes this is a nice device however not realeased yet, at least in Dubai, maybe with recent changes i-mate will never release it under their own brand name. So HTC Trinity is not available. Regarding HTC Hermes (i-mate Jasjam) it comes with 128MB ROM and Atom Exec 196MB ROM, After using the jasjar with 128MB ROM for a long time I took an outh to look for more memory basically because I have Arabic programs installed by default (they are required) and having essential applications installed on main memory caused less memory to run certain application, to me 128MB is not enough, another issue I will discuss that I don’t want 3G (Thanks to Etisalat), keyboard would be a compromise, other points would be also highlighted in the review and I would love to share my experience. Wink

BTW- I suppose to get the device yesterday night but I had some visitors so today inshaAllah I would get it.
