I just confirmed with HP Middle East Head Quarters which is based here in Dubai that this device is going to be released “soon”. This device is made by Quanta and rebranded by HP with their most popular PDA brand the “iPAQ”. Quanta manufactures the same device for O2 and Dopod but each distributor supplies the device with different added value packages in software and support.

Check the following specs for iPAQ rw68XX series:

Dimensions 102 x 58 x 19.5 mm, weight w/battery 140 g, display resolution 320 x 240 pixels, triband GSM (900/1800/1900), bluetooth, GPRS/GSM, Infrared, USB, EDGE, resolution 2 MP CMOS camera, built-in FM radio; built-in dual stereo speakers; Philips LifeVibes 3D sound effects, Intel processor PXA272 speed 416 MHz, 64 MB RAM, 128 MB ROM, miniSD slot, battery life 5.5 hours, Windows Mobile 5.0 Phone Edition.

Just to give you an idea about what happening in Singapore:

HP launches iPaq PDA-phone trio
As per CNET ASIA New Release dated 10/5/2006

SINGAPORE--HP introduces three new PDA-phone additions to its iPaq family including a second GPS offering, the hw6965, as well as the ultracompact rw6818 and rw6828 handhelds.

The spotlight at the recent HP launch was clearly on the two rw6800 series handhelds. Sporting an almost identical design and feature set as the O2 Xda Atom, many journalists at the event believed that the rw6818 and rw6828 were produced by the same manufacturer, though HP declined to comment on this. More importantly, the new releases signal the Palo Alto giant's intention to grab a share of the ultracompact PDA-phone market, currently dominated by O2 and Dopod.

Despite the similarities between HP's rw6800 iPaqs and O2's Atom, there are several features that differentiate the two. In addition to the onboard support for push email, the hw6800 handhelds also come with Philips' LifeVibes 3D sound effects. We spotted slight cosmetic differences between the two, but what really makes the iPaqs stand out is the optional limited-edition "skins" for users to add a touch of personalization to their PDAs.....
