PDA-News: "Not to be outdone by our fellow cellphone enthusiasts at Phone Daily, we were also able to take a first look at the P525, ASUS second Pocket PC phone (after the P505, which never shipped here in Germany). While our review is admittedly light on pictures, it provides a lot of facts about the inner workings of this device. Under the distrustful eyes of a Taiwanese product manager we could hold this baby in our arms for a full 60 minutes, an eternity by CeBIT standards, where hordes of clueless visitors are vying to touch every single exhibit not securely locked away in a glass cabinet..." Check out the first impressions here. Source via Pocket PC Thoughts
Currently this is not my favorite button arrangments I donno if this will be practical but Asus known for making great quality hardware. ![]() |

Benq certainly has a lot of competitors! Everyone seems to be copying the Treo form factor. This device however has the keypad configuration similar to the new Sony Ericsson M600 (Blackberry like)...

Docc,
the number buttons are quite ok, also the two softkeys. But the other function buttons below them are pretty small and a little bit too tight to each other. Good for people with small fingers, not good for Bigfoot ;-) Its not really like the newer Blackberrys with a simulated QWERTY keyboard. Just regular candybar style phone with alphanumeric keypad. I still consider this device very impressive. Too bad it doesnt have EDGE or UMTS. :-( Digging up the juicy rumors and answering questions you never thought you had ;-) My Blog covers PDAs and smartphones from a decidedly german perspective. Marc,
Are you sure it has a regular A-N keypad? From the looks of it, it appears to have a configuration similar to the M600 as i mentioned earlier i.e 2 letters per key... Since this is the first in their line-up, i don't blame them for going all out and coming out with a bang. This is more like a test device to assess the market reaction to their products, a rather sensible thing to do i must say. Docc. |

Hi Docc,
yes, I am absolutely shure, its just a regular numeric keypad. I had this device for an hour and there are good close up pictures of the P525 at www.infosync.no.
