Did you get a sms saying your Mnet GPRS was being upgraded for free to 3.5g ??

If so be careful

Yes the do swap you on to 3.5g account but not the basic one it's the 2mb at 25Dr per month rental charge

If you are only an occassional user then cancel your mnet gprs by calling 101 then subscribe to pay as you go at 2fils per 2k download no rental charge by dialling 125

If unsure call 8006464 there helpful

Best of luck with customer services rofl

Thanks M8 Big Grin

Actually I'm still waiting for CS to phone back on cancellation of Mnet rotfl

The 125 activation is easy, only a selection menu, still waiting for sms confirmation (24hrs they say) Note if you phone the usual 121 for wasel they tell you to phone 125 which is the post paid services normally Bangin

The 101 CS did not even know there was a pay as you go data package option

I noticed on E's web site the do say some services are not available on pre-paid (wasel accounts)hope this is not another problem yet to encounter.

All of this came about as I could not get a gprs connection.

Does anyone know if E or du are offering HSDPA now? I got an SMS from E saying that my 3G speed has been increased to 2Mbit for no extra charge, and as far as I know that is only possible via HSDPA not UMTS. What about du?

Also, someone told me that E is now offering a 1GB data transfer package for around Dhs. 900 month, but their website has not been updated in a while. I was hopeful that du would offer an unlimited plan for 3G, but sadly their pricing is no better.

jimmyg,

I was also searching for this information and I couldn't find it on Etisalat's website, I just found one broken link or empty page about thier 3G/GPRS charges but nothing about HSDPA. Confused

Since Etisalat is giving a name to each service you will have to check one by one and that is time consuming Roll Eyes I will have to call 101

So far I didn't find anything in Du but will look further later, check here: http://www.du.ae/en/business/products-and-services/mobi...ess-mobile-data.html

And here: http://www.du.ae/en/category/add-5-to-life/next-generation/
