Guys from tbreak, passed on to give us this news on the imate's interview @ 3G conference in Barcelona...
At the 3G conference in Barcelona recently, i-mate announced some new products and since I couldn’t be in Barcelona at that time, I decided to pay the i-mate HQ a visit to get a first hand feel of their upcoming products. I had a chance to sit down with Mr. Robin Bowler, their Global Marketing Director and Mr. Jon Moss, their Global Technology Director Now, generally when you put the technology and marketing gurus of an organization in one room, chances are that you’ll see one of them cringe while the other one is answering your question. Not so with i-mate where everything synced real well with these gentlemen. In fact, things are syncing real well for this five-year-old Dubai based company and their Outlook for this year couldn’t look better. Since the beginning, i-mate has been selling Windows Mobile based phones by utilizing the services of a Taiwanese based company called HTC. Mobile devices that we know as JAM, K-Jam, SP5 and everything else sold by i-mate has been designed and developed by HTC. What i-mate did was customize the units according to the region such as adding the whole Arabic interface with applications for religious activities as well as Mobile Operator settings.
