Remember that Motorola is a phone manufacturer long time ago before it became a PDA OEM as well. So Phone functions should not be compromised when it comes to Motorola Phones.

That’s a good review with many screen shots, take this one for example:

I want to try using it a phone while it is closed, I am not sure if this is possible but it would be interesting to use the phone form the small screen on the top. I want to see how this can be done how far the phone can be used in this operation.

And as far as PDA function, take a look at this:

And yes I am planning to write my own review Wink

As I said before Motorola originally knows and manufactures Mobile phones. They can make a mobile that works better.

You'll find below a translation of the conclusion of the Mobinaute' review (if it doesn't tells you about the details of the device, at least you'll get an overall feeling!):

As far as being a 'phone', the MPx is a good PDA/Phone that catches well the networks of various operators, but not in a very stable way (the device tried was not a final version - it was dated April 2004), with a good sound quality. Unfortunately, it suffers from the lack of functionalities of Windows Pocket PC 2003 Phone Edition.
As far as being a 'PDA', despite having a small screen, the MPx is an enjoyable device, data synchronisation is flawless, and you can watch videos. Nevertheless, you won't be able to play games that require a lot of memory.
Taking notes in landscape mode was a real pleasure, and the keyboard is great.

Despite a slow processor, screen shifting from 'phone' to 'PDA' mode is quite fast.

Overall built quality gives a solid feeling to the MPx. For instance it doesn't make any quicking noise when switching from one mode (i.e. phone) to the other (i.e. PDA).

Pros
  • FormFactor
  • Size
  • Weight
  • Nightime PDA colors with the external screen keys and the keyboard
  • Ability to connect at the same time WiFi and Bluetooth
  • The external screen and its functions
  • Keyboard

    Cons
  • SD card too difficult to slide-in
  • No backup software provided
  • You need to remove the battery to insert the SIM card
  • Slow processor
  • Poor battery life (24hour in this pre-release device)
  • PPC Phone Edition that provides only limited phone functions
  •
