"The iPAQ 514 is also the very first device based on Windows Mobile 6 (Standard version in this case) produced by HP, that has chosen not to upgrade its previous Windows Mobile 5 -based devices. It gets the name Voice Messenger because basically its primary purpose is making voice calls.

Thanks to the iPAQ 514 you can make voice calls by using the GSM network but also VoIP since the device is able to automatically and seamlessly switch from one to the other, where allowed by the presence of the Wi-Fi signal.

Other than that it has a 2" display (unfortunately of transmissive type and with 176 x 220 pixel resolution), a 200 MHz Texas Instruments OMAP 850 processor, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, 128 MB of ROM memory and 64 MB of RAM, a 1,3 Megapixel camera and voice control functions.

Unfortunately the HP iPAQ 514 also has some faults, but being it a first work (and mostly for its price tag) reviewers are sufficiently satisfied by the performance it offers, also related to battery life."
