"Thoughts Media's man down-under, Darius Wey, found an interesting clipping in the newspaper this morning. Motorola's new Q q9 is heading down under for August of 2007. The new q9 is a great device with a much improved battery life over it's original older brother the Q."

I agree I also don't like this form factor, a sliding or flip open would be better IMO

Edit: I would like to amend my above statment because recently I started using this type of form factor and I find it really practical and IMO better than the slidy keyboard, I feel I'm much faster in inputting text. Further observations will be discussed in the forums.

Root,

Actually I agree with you, I have had similar device in the same form factor, this design is ideal for single handed operation, I starting to be more into the candy bar form with a fixed keyboard, the blackberry was a runaway success, still this form is very practical and proven to be a success! I held it in my hands and I find it much faster as an input method, thats what treo users used to brag about in the past and I've seen how fast they are in inputting text

Thats due to the fact I don't like cheese rofl

If your have seen the latest winner of the US sms/txt winner (considering US was the smallest user of this until recently)they did not use this format.

I rest my case grinning

Any device with a 3 preferably 5 way jog dial has truly thought/considered about one hand use IMO

It's funny how you learn to adapt using different devices Smile

I likesd the old SE P910 but the 990 was pants

It's the little things that annoy you in the long run

You must have a long thumb to get to the farside of the Q KB grinning
