I always thought that this device is nothing but RUBBISH! And this review agrees with me:

"If you listened to the Mobility Today Podcast you know that i-mate was nice enough to send me a JAQ3 to play with and I am sorry to say that this device is not for me."

Mohammed- did you use this device before declaring it "rubbish?" The review link you've posted is probably the worst "review" I've read in some time. There is NO 3 second holding of the power button to get it back on- a simply push does it like on every other device.

Anyways, I "thought" this device would be pretty sad as well but I gave it a chance and have been using it for a month and while not the best, I think its pretty awesome.

It's a bit slow but I have used WM6 on a 200MHz OMAP and it flies so once imate releases the official ROM update, this device should fly. Its pretty stable, battery life is ok and reception is nowhere as bad as that review states.
Smile

Yes I used it and I still think it is rubbish, sorry this is just my honest opinion. Smile

Here I agree!! Yes if this device would run WM6 then we have another story. Here see the how speedy is Palm Treo 750:

WM6 should give a speed boost with i-mate JAQ3 as well but we donno if i-mate will release an official upgrade.

If you've used it, then yes, you have a complete right to voice your opinion. Personally, I found the device very satisfactory.

And yes, i-mate has officially announced a WM6 upgrade to the JAQ3- although when will that happen is anyone's guess. I would think July though.

ajaffarali,

It will be great to have JAQ3 updated to WM6, this will be the first form i-mate to provide a complete WM upgrade AFAIK

My only disappointment was with the speed of this device, I have nothing against the form factor, in fact I prefer this device to run Pocket PC instead of Smartphone compared to Moto and Htc i-mate are giving a better option I believe for this kind of messaging device which is similar to BlackBerry, the form factor is proven to be desirable with a fixed keyboard on a candy bar form factor, it’s been a runway success for BlackBerry for years.

I hope you get your JAQ3 upgraded soon so you share your thoughts with us Wink
