Grrrr....How sad is that? So does that mean it did not get FCC approval?

Congrats, Mohd.
Hope you have drawn a checklist already to put the Mpx evaluation through its motions. Here's what I would like to know, not necessarily in that order - (1) Connectivity - GSM (Tri/Quad Band), BT, WiFi, IrDA, GPRS (2) OS (3) PDA features available (4) Sync method (5) BT performance headset and handsfree profiles - voice dialling, etc (6) Camera (7) Screen Res and brightness (8) Battery life (9) Navigation - hardware buttons, menus, etc. (10) Processor Speed (11) Memory (12) External Memory (13) Slots available for memory/IO devices (14) Standard Accessories, Optional Accessories (15) Sound recording and playback quality, bit rates, stereo/mono, etc. (16) Video Recording and Playback quality (17) Audio/Video Codecs - WMP or Real? (18) Device Phsiology - buttons, ports, device design and shape, flip cover operation, battery location, sim card location, etc.
Quite a homework, eh, Mohd? Wink. Anyway, no hurry, enjoy the device and have your joy ride first Clap.

Mohd,

to get around the "Memory" issue is it possible to soft reset the device during the initial boot thus preventing the 17Meg of software being loaded on to the MAIN RAM, I have see in other places oon the net that it has arounf 22 Megs additional FALSH sapce available, if you can prevent the original installation after boot then we could install the stuff to FLASH or to the storage card, BTW are the "Installed" applications also on the CD ?

m ost of the above :-

"(17) Audio/Video Codecs - WMP or Real? (18) Device Phsiology - buttons, ports, device design and shape, flip cover operation, battery location, sim card location, etc."

is already on the net, and I dont see them putting real into a MS based device, and any way BetaPlayer is much better as it supports nearly all codes (Divx,M4a,M4v....)

I can perhaps answer some of the questions, so that Mohd gets more time to play with his device. I am sure all these details will eventually come once he gets done with his review.

1)Connectivity - TriBand with BT, WiFi, GPRS.
2)OS - WM2003SE
3)PDA - As every other WM2003SE device (correct me if wrong)
4)Sync method - No cradle, so jus BT, IR, WiFi
5)Leave that to Mohd
6)Camera - 1.3MP, no Video Recording
7)Mohd's call
8)Battery life - Just enough for a day with heavy usage
9)Mohd's call
10)Processor - T1 OMAP 195MHz
11)32MB RAM, 64MB ROM
12)External Memory - Transflash Card,32MB provided with SD adapter.
13) Hot swapping of memory card
14)Mohd's call
15)Sound - Mono sad
16)No Video Recording. Good playback quality.
17)WMP, No Real natively
18)Mohd's call.

I hope i have been correct on the information i have provided. If i am wrong somewhere, please correct me Mohd.

Looking forward to first impressions and some great pictures.

Docc.

I will surly go through those points, thanks for the tips! Way to go

Believe it or not I didn’t start exploring this device as I normally don’t have time. I do have to go to work tomorrow early morning even if it is Friday. sad

I will keep you updated though.

So far my latest discovery is a nice “Voice Recognition System” already built in MPx. I believe this application was developed by Motorola. It has it’s own dedicated button on the keyboard as well.

That’s a great idea! I plan to do that such as publishing parts of the review.
