I agree...
So far they didn’t develop a reliable PPC Phone to be used primarily as a Phone. PDA2K is full of rubbish! I think the MPX is a winner in this category. I guess most PPC owners are excited and curious to use this new concept which is very new for a Pocket PC device. People know i-mate (XDA II) when you take it out of your pocket they know it is a PPC or as some of us they call it “Pocket Computer” this also obvious even in i-mate JAM or PDA2K. People will get the same perception. I bet if you took MPX from your pocket and opened it first thing they would think that this is a mobile phone. MPX is a very interesting device I hope it would be offered at reasonable rates. :
Power users are what me and u are. People who depend entirely on their device as a workhorse. I use it for pretty much evrything, browsing, emails, mp3's, movies, excel, pdf viewing, powerpoint viewing etc etc.
A light user is someone who wud use the device primarily as a phone and occasionally for checking emails and taking a picture or two here and there....
As for the customisations, they can be extracted from the PDA2k's external ROM and installed into the MPx....not a problem at all. The only problem u would face is that more memory wud be taken up by these programs (if not able to install to card) thus slowing down the device even more....tortoise or snail kinda issue....

Lively discussion already. Okay, Docc feels Jam is good while someone else feels Jam goes ebay way to make way for the MPX. Yes, the form factor is indeed a major plus point and knowing it's from motorola at least the phone part of the bargain will have no hitches. Also if it is WM2003SE then I guess the PDA features will be as good or as bad as any other, so no worries there either. But, the memory might be an issue and as Docc pointed out, problems need to be explored about the performance once you migrate all your programs/files to MPX from the current device and for thte power users. Mohd's revelation about voice recognition is a Manna (as in old testament) indeed as it will be one of the most important features anyone would use right away. Now, the BT thing, that concerns us all who have been ruthlessly scathed and bruised by Imate on the PDA2ks. I guess BT shouldn't be a problem because I think it is a phone manufacturer venturing into PDAs and that nativity should provide them the advantage on BT connectivity issues. Also, Mohd. is voice recognition possible over BT on MPXs? If so, how nice it would be. One more think though, the syncing is over BT, IrDA, Wifi as Docc noted, why not the good old cable? Is it good or bad, I guess I am undecided on that one. Camera - well I guess a camera on a convergence device is just an additional functionality we love to have but can't imagine using it for serious photography - do you agree? Docc. But, Docc, you say no video recording, right? That's bad. NoBackUp, thanks, the details are not the net here.

Hey Docc, since Mohd. gonna post the MPX review as a sticky somewhere, how about you makin a comparative on say Excel on major parameters comparing Jam, PDA2k, MPX and other HP, Asus comparable device and post on this thread? It can be updated with Mohd's remarks as they come plus other user comments over time. I think it will also convey our (the customers) opinions directly to the manufacturers who am sure snoop this forum? Not to mention guys like me (and you) who wanna shift their device loyalties in the near future. A chore, eh? Just start with only the most important 4/5 parameters, to begin with, Docc, pleeeaaaaaaaseeeee, Docc, pleeeeaaaaaasssseeee .

@ the moment the only Killer (true killer that is) can be the Benq P50 me thinks, as the spec is similar to the JAM, where by I will take a very close look at the MPX when its available....
Note I am compairing like for like , both are q-band both have qwerty keyboards, both have WiFi and BlueTooth more info here
I am not that good with excel but i will make a post with all details abt each of this device. If someone can convert it into an excel file, that will be great.
Sheesh, i can do surgery but i cant make an excel file, how sad is that
