Good luck on this one. A friend of mine has the same device, and and there were the following problems with it:

1. By default, the GPS will not work with Destinator. You have to get a serial splitter program and split COM7 and have Destinator listen on the 'virtual' port for it to pick up any signals. Not only that, the program that I installed to split the COM ports (called splitter) makes the screen 'blink' on the device whenever it is active. frustrated

2. Because it is not a 'true' GPS device, you have to download the updated sat positions periodically. If you don't the accuracy just goes out the window.

3. To get the map -- you have to login to the Destinator website and register your product, then you will be able to download the map. However, to register, you need the serial number of the software, which I was never able to find.

I ended up getting Navigon 5. Even with the square (and low res) screen of the 6515, it is a lot better than destinator, which imnsho is a POS.

i am just moving to the UK and have bought a HW6915. This has TomTom preinstalled on it which does not have UAE. Could someone tell me where and how I could get some GPS software and maps. Navigon does not have middle east maps on their website. Can I overwrite TomTom with another software?
