If could compare the price for ipaq h6315 (a pocket pc phone) to a smarphone in terms of price I guess ipaq wins with flying colors! I say if ipaq is released with a price bracket between 2000 to 2200 dirhams then I consider it a bargain

What you say now is a little contradicting with your previous statements!

So at this price point, do you recommend it?

Why! I am comparing it to a smartphone, not to imate or xda III. I think it is cheap compared to a smartphone level. But as a Pocket PC it is no good enough even if it is cheap. the lower price dosen't make it attractive! If I want a smartphone rival I will buy it, but I don't want a smartphone I need a pocket pc phone, a powerful device with fast processor and more ram and rom, I will not settle for this device because it is cheaper.

cheaper dosn't always mean happier

I got your point now Ali. I will not reply to you until I get this device in my hand and test it then you will know my verdict. Wink

My Ideal device

a) loooooooooooooooooooong battery times
b) high speed multi media
c) NO CAMERA !...cant have a cphone at customer sites
d) Build Quality and finish
e) International guarantee and support (Walk in Replacement in most places)
f) QUAD band
g) Removable keyboard
h) Long time support from vendor
i) designed for Buisness Users not consumers

Evaluation :-
Smartphone Nope they are too exspensive for what they offer (h6000 offers more for less!) short battery time!
IMate have a XDAII and the Quality is poor and little or no supprt - want to shine with features i.e. Toys for Boys, kind a good multi media, short battery time!
Treo 600 Good PDA + Phone integration but weak screen (will be updated later this year, Looong battery time!
P900 good phone & PDA integration but slow and Symbian centric, good multi media,Loooooong battery time!

Note I have and activly use ALL the above mentioned phones/devices and use them regularly

Basically I need a good phone/pda combination with the reliability of a sonyericsson/nokia and support to match...it should just be there, and work...every time.. and and not something "special" that has too be handle with care..ie. a tool !

Smile

Well.. i think that HP pocket pc phone is real "competitior" to i-mate because of the build in wi-fi and the battery..
on the other hand.. in terms of speed and "PDA capabilities" i-mate wins with a very much faster processor and bigger RAM..
Before i knew the real specification of the HP 6315 i thought i would certainly replace my i-mate with it.. but after its release and the review posted above and the pictures which shows that the 6315 does not have the wonted HP screens i changed my mind..
and in the last.. XDA II is about 1 year old by now and we are arguing about it vs the 6315 wouldnt that suggest that the hp6315 is slightly outdated??
another thing.. if there is some persons who can prefer the 6315 over xda II i dont think there will be anyone prefering 6315 over XDA III which i think is not so far from releasing.. i'll wait xda III and stay with my i-mate now... Smile

Accentually I am very confuse between these Ver. Of P.PC
If they are produced in the same time from the same company and almost same look why there is BIG different in the processor and memory!!
I liked the futures of 4700 but the problem I need the phone option with it
Any idea or good solution ?
