There are more interesting rumors about the new iPAQ, which is possibly the h6000 series. Previously we heard that this device will be based on TI WANDA reference design which is shown in this picture. You can read more about it here, this is an interesting article was put together by Marc from ipaqabilities. He talks about the configurations: "This iPAQ would have a 3.5 inch transflective display with 65000 colours, an integrated VGA camera, SDIO slot, a removable 1850mAH Lithium Ion battery, 64MB RAM/64MB ROM, Bluetooth (v 1.1), WLAN 802.11b, and Quad-band GSM/GPRS (class 10) built-in. This iPAQ will apparently be roughly the same size of the H2200 series and more specifically, should be released in March 2004." Rumors say that there will a smart phone and a Pocket PC Phone released by HP under the iPAQ brand name, and there are 3 North American Carriers showed interest to supply this device. "The next big Smart Phone to be released by AT&T is a little different and falls into the second category. This new device, we will call "The Rock" for now (the true code name will be held in confidence until the FCC news breaks soon). "The Rock" as far as I know has not been FCC certified, so I will continue to look it up on a weekly basis. Here is some of the scoop on "The Rock": It will be manufactured by HP and labeled under the iPAQ brand. It WILL include an integrated QWERTY keyboard, a modular GPRS/EDGE and possibly a new technology as of yet not released. It will be "modular" meaning that the carriers can decide how it will be equipped, but it may not be user-replaceable module. I will have more for you soon as far as resolution, battery, RAM/ROM, wireless, GPS, graphics chip, and more. The news is on it's way. This device has been delayed several times but the delay of the device is a good thing, because there is a new faster Xscale processor could be made available for this device. 600Mhz is not out of the question..." But still HP is doing a good job by keeping this project a top secret so far. We don’t know if it will be released in our region, but I know (as always) HP will initially release it in North America. We hope it doesn’t take too long to be released in Dubai. ...::------------::... Present: i-mate Pocket PC Phone Edition |

I think it is too early to judge it from this picture I am not sure if this is a fake, but possibly someone saw the real prototype and is trying to show it in a fake "but close to real" picture

Boof,
There are only rumors about iPAQ h6300, and when it is going to be released we don’t know, if your friend can wait, then I think it is better to wait for h6300. Just to make sure what device is going to turn out to me. If it is really the i-mate killer then it would be worth waiting for |
