I have always known Garmin to be overpriced and underused. Yes, they have been around a lot longer than Navigon or TomTom's grand-daddy Big Grin BUT, the user-friendliness and range of maps available for Navigon and TomTom is much more superior.

I also got the news that they might have TomTom as well. The reason to have Garmin I think is because they recieved lots of special request for it because it will work with any PC, I think they will offer other GPS products as well!

Well, the more the better Smile

As of now, Navigon and Garmin are the only 2 GPS softwares with support for the Middle-East. I hope Garmin does as good a job as Navigon does! Smile

Thanks for the info Docc and SteveJ. I did call up Gadgetsworld and they don't have version 5 for Navigon. They are selling the bundled version 4 for Dhs. 1800 - seems a bit high.

Also, since my PDA did not come with a mini SD wifi card, I can't seem to find that in town either :-(

Thanks again for the info :-)

well my overpriced GARMIN 60CS can do something that my HP6515 cant....FLOAT (did that last diving trip !!) so Garmin is an Industrial Strenth product !!! just like Magellin , I think its a bit unfair to try to compare these with a hand held PDA based soultion...

I looked at Garmin before going to Navigon it worked OK on the JJ I had to show the Garmin rep how to configure as he had 2 returns from previous customers. Thier maps are not as up to date as Navigon and you must use thier GPS reciever which is not as new as the ones now available (eg SiRFIII) etc. Thier own hand held portable one are still the best around for dedicated GPS units.

1800Dhr is for the bundelled set Software/BT GPS unit/Car Cradle/Etc. I suggest you see if Gadgetworld can order V5 for you or order from the web and find a SiRFIII BT GPS unit locally.
Axiom were selling Imate sd wifi cards (was free with black Jam last month)
