One more thing I want to add. I’ve seen the imate and the cover (the casing) looks very cheap Razz. Compared with ipaq and even the old qteck, the imate looks really cheap from the outside. Put them side by side and you will know what I mean.

My point is if imate has the same configurations of the new ipaq I would definitely go for the ipaq because it looks elegant and rich, but expect this ipaq to come with more features, then you cannot deny that ipaq is a clear winner. I’m sure you all agree that Pocket PCs should have an excellent appearance, they should look cool, because people are looking at them. Cool

Wow, it looks really cool. If it's the same size as the 2210 + antenna then I think it will definitely be an imate killer. Hope it won't be very expensive though!

As per the recent rumors, it will be around $600, but we don't know if this is the price suggested for the unlocked version Question

$800 US Dollars is totally acceptable by me. Because you have all the good stuff built in….. In case of the i-mate you will have to buy the backpack for around $200 and add to that a Wifi CF Card you will endup paying a price over $1100, that’s crazy!!

The Backpack is useless IMHO. Why you need more than 512MB SD card memory, even this will do until the 1 GB is released. Also a CF Wifi card will look awkward located in the bottom. VGA-out is not a high priority to the average customer. I laughed at some pictures recently posted, i-mate looks very bulky, it will definitely look ridicules lol

Yup, it's acceptable by me as well but I feel that the MX300 is more pocket convenient than the ipaq 6300 size wise if it is to replace my phone! Another thing is I won't need a case for the MX300 as it's a clamshell whereas the 6300 definitely needs a case to protect the the touch screen which will add more bulkiness to it. And the last thing is that the MX300 looks more like a phone compared to the 6300 which will likely attract some people's attention saying "what is that big thing on his ear".
Well this is just my opinion! I would happily like to know others opinions as well! Big Grin

Looks like I sometimes refer to the Motorola MPX300 as MX300 Embarrassed. Excuse me, it could be because of the many MX terms like Geforce MX200 or Pentium MMX ... Wink

You guys forgot the the i-mate is the not original manufactor/brand, it's hard for Brands like hp to released several PDAs a year! while i-mate (the developer) can just release a fixed PDA that compete hp's coming PDA, let's three months later in Oct 2004!

Another point is, most of those who focus on the i-mate are orgininnaly phone users, and their usage does not expand to widely used PDA. But ones like you, who need more powerful PDA's, yeah difintely. You can finnaly Combine your PDA and your simple mobile phone together, but some old classis people would rather separate PDAs and mobile phones!

for the next 18 months, PDAs will still be PDAs, and mobile phones will still be mobile phones, and neither will interrupt the other side until then. Can't compete and challenge in mobile industry with the so experienced SonyEricsson and Nokia ! But it could be just the matter of time.

I really doubt that. Why those companies are targeting this market?! There is a market for Smartphones, for Pocket PC Phones and also for the simplest type of mobile phones. There is a significant market share that’s why I expect them to invest on this technology.

I am not really a big fan of Sony Ericsson’s but I never saw a Nokia device comparable to the P900. But both manufacturers are stuck with Symbian OS. I am skeptical if they will really compete with Samsung and Motorola, because both are major plays these days in the industry with varieties of devices in different categories.
