hiii..... couple of days i got my ipaq6515 its terrific and everything, the only problem is i could not get syncronize with my pc@office

im having P4 winxp pro ServicePack2 1GB RAM, i have done everthing starting from installing the software ms active sync 3.8 without connecting the device as said in the manual, disabling firwalls and atuoupdate, tried to Get Connected..through all the means USB, Bluetooth, but .. no.. nothing

i then bought IR adaptor connected to the pc and sync with pc, yes .. it did work but the connection got lost as soon as sync. had finished which reported in a min.. the connection does not STAY, which is needed for other purposes, eg. to install softwares, thoug i could transfer files from and to via bluetooth or IR.

forgot to mention that after installing ms active sync. my windwos does recognize the new founded hardware but nothing else than that..

in other hand.. @home i have an legacy pc! PIII winXP SP1 64MB RAM, but got connected and sync and everything, i wonder Y! my pc @home take 4ever to restart and so on but it did the work, and my wife says, that y im not upgrading your pc!

Hmmm, the older version of AS hardly had any issues, odd that you are facing them.

The most likely reason you are facing problems is because of your OS. XP Pro has been the culprit many a times. I am quite sure that at home you have XP Home installed.

Did you disable the native MS firewall too? Try reinstalling AS and see if that helps.

I have tried connecting the device on AS 3.8 / 3.7 in mu office (well known for the security/firewall etc)... but connected with ease...

The problem could b cus of any software in the device also... try Hard-Reset as the last option....

Just an info - what is the office version @ office/home???

i did hard rest but nothing new

by the way.. when ever connecting the device to the system .. AS says .. connecting ... user authenticated .. and then dissappears.. while leaving me with the same connection status

am using office10

okie lets get to the technical side ;-)

i have unpluged the device and the cradle from the sys.

installed AS 3.8 - this time in a different DIRectory bcs, i did previously had AS older versions for my prv. qtek .., restarted the pc and hooked everything back, and wola, it's up and running amazingly!

by the way firewall and all the securty thing is also on...
