I received a reply from an official HP Middle East Representative in Dubai regarding this recent story posted by BargainPDA. In response to this he says:
“This isn’t true. however I cannot give much details about the model. It looks very similar to the ones on the web. The launch is very much for real. The projected time-frame is June/July this year.” I am glad and anticipating this device. We have mentioned in this thread about the initial launching and here he reconfirms the launching in June/July time frame. |

I support Mohd comments...I've seen it (well at least it's PR campain, photos, specs, etc.).
(a) It looks pretty much as in the photoes over the net (b) Specs published on various sites are pretty accurate Sorry can't say more, as I'm under NDA too, however I wouldn't hurry to spend my money on anything else before June...:-) But again, after the 56xx affair, anything can happen...though in no case it'll mean that the 6300 series was not for real..as to my best current information IT IS !! ============ Saar Avigour Exwcutive Editor Pocket.Co.Il http://www.pocket.co.il |

I am glad that I didn’t spend my hard earned money on the imate...
So only 3 months to go, and I will have my new baby Saar Avigour, Do you have more hints about the new iPAQ? Processor? OS? |

Of course subject to changes of the "last minute", the 6350 is based on the TI OMAP processor/architecture (ARM compatible), has 64 Megs RAM (whip..whip..), and 64 Megs ROM (nice..), it is working the PPCPE 2003 Premium O/S (but of course, there's nothing else yet..), has the full Widcomm BT Stack, at least one of the four already known models to be out has an On-Board VGA Camera, all have 1 x SDIO slot..that's roughly the info already published on various sites, which I guess I won't be breaching any NDA by saying..."I didn't say this..they did..and it's pretty true to the Brochure..)..Same I can say about the photos published on PocketPC Italia, now suppossed to be taken off by HP request..
Sorry I know I don't say more than already known, but at least nobody said I'm not allowed either to confirm or deny..so I candidly confirm.. =========== Saar Avigour Executive Editor Pocket.Co.Il |

And yes..as already mentioned elsewhere..it's a Quad-Band GSM with Class 10 GPRS (800/900/1800/1900) in this sense being a true World-Wide cell-phone...

Thanks for the info Saar, I am sure it is going to be very interesting; it is actually the missing iPAQ in the group! HP will be filling the gap with this device. And as I expected the processor is ARM compatible, so software compatibility won’t be an issue.
Do you think it will come with a clip-on keyboard as rumored before? |

Hi Mohd,
Yes ! Same rumors mentioned before.... locate a clip-on keyboard within the "kit" of the leading model in the 63xx series. Actually this is the reaon some Editors found the first pics. to be bublished (credit goes to: http://www.smartfone.net) false..SFN was doing best to be a journalist, while at same time not expose his sources, so he published graphics of the 63xx with the clip-on KB installed, and a bit if "tinquering" with the Today screen....the latter pics. of PPC Italia have prooved SMF to be pretty true to any eyes but of complete skeptics'..
