I damaged my HP iPAQ rx3715 screen (LCD)

I called HP and they told me its gonna take around 6 working days coz they have to ship abroad and its gonna cost Dhs 1423 ($390) !!!

Now thats crazy , mite as well buy a new one which cost $449.

The PPC is in working condition, just one side of the LCD damaged.

Anyone got an idea how i can get it fixed at a better cost in UAE?

Geez!!!! Are they stupid or sumthing???? Newaz, i am really sorry to hear about that mate. My suggestion is to take it to Esen Trading at Al-Ain centre and ask them wot they can do about it. I am sure they can get it fixed for u n definitely at a cheaper price.

I also had a similar experience dealing with HP ME when I bought a 3670 a few years back with a faulty SD slot. I ended up returning the unit with the vendor (Axiom) for a full refund and purchased a 3870 instead. If Esen won't be able to help you out, an alternative is via the Internet. These LCD screens are available from the net and usually these newer systems are simpler to change. You just need to open up your unit and disconnect some ribbon cables.

I guess i'll have to buy a new one.. they sellin em for $383.. ..this sucks...

I suggest u sell ur device in the same condition for woteva u can get. And spend the same amount buying a new upgraded device like the HP 4700 or the likes.

It really doesnt make sense spending $383 on a screen!!!!
