Hello Folks,

Does anyone know when o2 atom life will be available in dubai? All the o2 retailers seem to be wasting my time with today-tomorrow crap since 2 months.

If the launch date is unknown, can you please advise me an international online retailer who ships o2 atom life to dubai?

I need to make a purchase in few days. If I can't get Atom Life, i will purchase something else. I am not willing to wait any longer.

Thanks in advance for your help.

M.

Not only in gulf.. This behaviour is similiar in all uncivilized countries. I thought it was different here.

I went to buy something else and as it turns out O2 Atom Life is available from Virgin Megastore last few days for 3400 dhs.

I bought one... but i will return it.

- Its plastic casing looks very cheap...
- Gray lining on the sides makes it even look cheaper.
- It looks very dirty with all these fingerprints.
- This is definitely not the phone i can leave on the desk in meetings.

Pros:
- Absolutely fabulous sound quality in phone conversations.

This is exactly why I hate my own Atom Exec, you may check my final part of this review: http://pocketpcdubai.com/reviews/o2/xda/atom/exec/reviewp5.html

Too bad the new Atom Life didn't improve in the built quality sad

Yes, I read your review about Atom Exec. Wait until you see this!

Atom Exec is Gray colour... It doesnt leave fingerprints and it doesnt look that bad... In fact, I was about to go for Atom Exec when i saw them next to each other. This one looks exactly like Atom which i hated the moment i saw. I wonder how people find this aesthetic. There must be just too many tasteless people on earth. Almost a thousand dollars for this and they can't make it like HTC P4350 -- black matte, solid build.

Is there any HTC model exactly the same as P4350 without the sliding keyboard?

I checked P3600 white and black and both look equally cheap.

some more cons:

- This silly plastic is very slippery. Hard to keep the phone at hand. It slips almost all the time.

- The phone overheats with just 10 mins of talk. It is almost impossible to hold it any longer without scalding yourself.

- The processor does not seem to be any faster than the Ti 200 MHz from my Imate Jamin in single tasks. Almost everything seem to be taking same amount of time as the old Jamin. I am not doing multitasking or opening up 200 programs or god-knows what on a 2.7 inch screen that others do however they do it. I have a 21" monitor to do that on.

I little unfair IMO Smile

It's not the country, it's the poor, under paid under trained staff, which is proliforating everwhere these days in the gulf or west, to keep cost down and fight against grey and internet sales.

You need to ask the shop people a few straight questions before you move up a scale like:

Do you know what a phone/pda is Big Grin

Do you know what O2 Atom Life is grinning

They will probably answer yes to everthing so through a trick question in like

What colour is it Eek

Then what OS Roll Eyes

before you move on, it will probaly take at least 3 salesmen before you find one that knows a little, very few will give a straight answer and certainly not "Ï dont Know" rofl

My favorite shop for this is plugins they tried to sell me a vidcam that was 3 years old discontinued and more expensive than current better models frustrated or was it deliberate rotfl

Your right, I liked the smart flip as it was part matt/antislip finish and serated and unlike the V3 Moto seriers does not slip out of your top shirt pocket as my friends constantly does

Ahhh actually something I don't often consider in AD as I could leave the office catch a cab and be changed and on the beach in 10, I guess in Dubai you have only gone through one set of lights by then grinning, but yes your right not many reviews seem to mention long call tests where the battery discharge heats the casing.
