@ Abdu dodo

Great to have you with us on PPCD Birthday
Well I have to start by saying that your question is very wide. I would like you to read these few links and retrun back to us (preferably in a new room with a new title) Wink with a more specific question.

You can find full Jesjar specifications here

And you can find full K-Jam specifications here Note that it will be available on September 16th.

@ RO13

Clap That's the best thing to do. And your most welcome. But remember, that you have to install the screen protector from DAY 1 stop

Gents, regarding the screen protector, I read on another site a few weeks ago about how it gave the screen a colored tint and affected overall clarity. It went so far as to say, not to bother with it, as it would do more harm than good. Shocked

Reading that, I just assumed no one would really use such an item. Your posts say that I must use one and I tend to agree with you for the simple fact that the screen is pretty fragile and it needs extra shielding. worried

Once again, please pardon my ignorance on this; I just wanted to ask a couple of questions:

1) Over time, would a protector leave any sort of residue on the original? Would I be making a mess of my new PPC by "sticking" a protector onto the screen?

2) How does a protector affect the use of the stylus? Will the touch-screen be just as receptive as it should?

You can imagine how confusing it is to hear/read contrasting recommendations from PPC users, shop personnel & websites. And it's not just the screen protector issue that I'm referring to, but various subjects. Very Confused

You gents have a lot of experience and knowledge with such gadgets and I'm inclined to take your advice, so any recommendations you have would be of great value. Very Happy

As always, I thank you for the expert advice and for maintaining such a fantastic website! Way to go

First of all, why you are awake upto 4:28 AM? Crazy Did you zzz or you just walk up Wink

Now, there is no glue involved in the process. I don't Think So I can't describe the mechanisim of how they stick. You will find this out yourself. Or maybe I can. There is this thin layer of transperent nylon that covers alot of new plastic devices, like a remote control. When you remove that layer, you will not I don't Think So feel that the remote is sticky. This protector is something like that, but that nylon is like a thin sheet of plastic. Like an X-ray, but much more thinner. Roll Eyes I hope I managed to give you the picture.

As about the screen's sensitivity, it will get effected. But very little worried

As for your nice words about us, it is people like you who we all at PPCD would like to share our experience with. You are most welcomed anytime with any question. Don't feel ashame of asking any question, because as you said, alot of sites have different opinion ( which is ok, this is life ). And as for the sales people in the market, IMO they all speak bs (Bull Shit) I don't trust anyone of them, because they even did not read the manual of the product that they are trying to sell you. They just want to sell. This is why you have to check the internet for everything that you want to buy before hitting the market. tongue

Simply, it takes a 100 Dhs to replaced a scratched screen protector, however if you don't use one and the screen will get scratched, then you either have to live with it Morecry, or buy a new PDA. bonk

Cheers!

RO13,

A good quality screen protector is always recommended. Take for example the one made by Martin Fields and also PPCTechs.

I’ve written an article here you might find it interesting.

I have a long experience with screen protectors and I never had to complain about it since the screen is such an important part of your PDA, it is where you access you device and you will enjoy it better if the screen looks better. Even some manufacturer have made different selections of screens such as a glary but doesn’t leave fingerprints and other glossy which you don’t even know if it is installed. So it doesn’t make the screen worse, it is where one you select to install. I had many arguments as people don’t it is worth it to by as much as AED 60 on a screen protector where I strongly disagree because the ones sold for AED 10 or 15 are the ones people complain about. Look for these brands as I have already tested them in the past: Martin Fields, PPCTechs. The first is available with our sponsors (Gadgets World)

I agree, mostly they don’t know anything about the product, many times I didn’t find answers to many questions so I turned around and left the place, easily lost my interest.

One of the best things to do before buying a product is reading reviews, well written reviews are very helpful to make a good decision which device to buy to fit your requirements.

PS. Since you have lots of fun with smilyes I have added two more to the collection Wink

Once again gentlemen (Mohd, Docc & Saad), you have been extremely helpful. Each of you is an asset to this site. Great reviews and fantastic feedback. PPC Dubai has broken into my hallowed ‘Top 10 sites’ chart. Cool

I agree with the comment about ignorant staff at certain shops/malls. I was at City Center a couple of days ago and they happen to have a Sagem stall in the middle of the isle. A lady (sales person) and a gent (who I'm sure is the manager because the staff kept going to him for difficult questions) tried to sell me the new MyX-8. Neither of them could give me a decent answer to fairly simple questions. worried

Then the Manager actually uses his own MyX-8 to call his colleague who he claimed was an "expert" and redirected my questions to him. That’s just plain disgraceful. That stall and its staff are the face of Sagem. They’re playing with their company’s reputation... and this is a company that is already struggling to get a respectable slice of the market. Shameful performance Sagem! I don't Think So

Honestly, the way they handled my queries gives me serious doubts as to whom their target market is. Probably blonde bimbos who'd smile at the phone’s awesome display, hand over a bunch of money and walk away... only to come running back an hour later to pick up thier purchase! rotfl

On a positive note: This phone has of the most beautiful display screens - ever. It was gorgeous to look at: 256K-color screen with a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels. Very, very nice. I’m sure they’ll get customers who’ll buy the phone for this feature alone.

Gentlemen, having read all the reviews on the BlackJam and the Everex E900 (btw, superb review on that Docc!) I’d like to ask you this: If each of you were forced to pick ONE of these two PPCs for your personal use, which would it be and why?

Oooh, I can’t wait to log on later to check the replies to this post.

Ps: Saad, since you asked... I wake up pretty early to go for a walk/jog. I’m on military time when it comes to things like that. Not that I’ve ever been in the military. It’s a discipline. Wink

You are most welcome Mohd Smile this truly is a fantastic website.

Btw, I was hoping you'd answer the question I had posted earlier today: "If you were forced to pick ONE of these two PPCs (Black Jam or Everex E900), which would it be and why?"

Please bear in mind that I've read the reviews, I just wanted your personal preference between the two PPCs mentioned.

Look forward to your reply.

Thank you.
