Greetings all,
New to Dubai and first post here.

I am keen on buying the HTC Trinity soon. Has anyone here used that phone?
I've read about several issues with the phone on various forums. Flaking paint, issues with the motherboard come to my mind.

The other option is the HTC Kaiser but its not launched anywhere yet.
Looking forward to the replies.

Had a look at the gadetsworld site but I did not come across information regarding the queries I had raised, or maybe I was not looking in the right place.
Also the Trinity details page fails to mention the fact that AGPS is now available after the ROM update.

The Trinity is one of HTC's best and cutting edge devices till date. Like with most devices, there is always a certain margin of error of sorts when it comes to manufacturing. Flaking paint is a problem with the black color Trinity but not really as rampant as one would assume. The white one at this point seems to be the safer bet but when it comes to aesthetics, it does appear to be an iPod wannabe.

In regards to the motherboard problems, as i mentioned already, thats expected. Always make sure that you purchase from a trusted seller so that you have the opportunity to avail warranty and support incase you are not satisfied with your purchase. Gadgetworld would be a good place to start if you are living locally as they offer discounts to members of Mobility Dubai.

Now, coming to Kaiser. If you aren't in a hurry to purchase a new device right now, then i would suggest that you let your credit card stay in your wallet for a few weeks longer and it is a device worth waiting for. Hopefully, we will do a review to help you make an educated purchase.

The flaking paint does not worry me much as the motherboard. I will be be calling up the Bur Dubai office of Gadgetsworld today to get a quote on the Trinity.

As of now I am in Dubai but not for long, unfortunately. I will be going back in a months time and I am keen on buying a phone before I return.

I dont think the Kaiser will be available during that time so I will have to make do with the second best option and thats the Trinity.

Managed to visit the Gadgetworld outlet in Musalla mall, Bur Dubai but they did not have stocks of the Trinity.
The best price I could manage is 2600 DHS which is a cool 300dhs cheaper than Plugins or Jumbo.
