Well, the new E500 replacement has show its first bug. Today I wanted to send an SMS and found that the phone had turned itself off. That was also a problem with the first unit I had which was replaced.
Now I find myself checking the phone every hour or so just to make sure it is still on. Bobby |

The Everex 500 phone shut off again. This time I was in the middle of a conversation and it just shut off. Very annoying. The phone went dead and I tried to redial. A dialog box popped up and said, "The phone has been turned off. Do you want to turn it on?"
Don't trade in your Nokia for one of these things. Bobby |

This bug was intermittent and I was troubleshoot by removing some applications one by one suspecting that it could be caused by a third party application until I had to hard reset. But the same applications worked flawlessly with i-mate Pocket PC Phone. Anyway, Everex was stable for a while but then the problem reappeared again. As you said this bug existed in the same old model. Unfortunately these issues will only appear after using the device for a while.
For now I suggest you do the same and hard-reset your device and observe it for a while. It could work for you. |

Thanks Mohd. I'll try the hard reset. This is really not a device that should be on the market yet. Either there is little or no QC involved in their manufacture or it is simply a beta model pushed to market by the accountants and marketing folks. If you are a businessman you do not have time to keep dealing with annoying bugs your phone, PDA or whatever you communicate with. I may soon go back to my trusty Nokia so I don't have to wonder if I am in contact with the world.

I don't advise anyone to buy this PDA it is not worth it there are so many bugs. I used one then I returned it.
