Today Everex made good their promise to support the Everex E500 which I have had such difficulty with. The problems I had:
1) Would not sync 2) Callers heard a distracting humming sound 3) Phone would turn itself off as I carried it during the day Everex replaced the device, the cradle and the cable. I was told the replacement device had a newer version of software installed. I’ve successfully synchronized with Outlook now and callers say it sounds ok on their end. So I want to thank Mr. Awad Samhan, Technical Manager as well as Mr. Nicholas Daher, Service Manager of Al-Ghanim in Kuwait who was most helpful. Bobby |

Good for you, I hope you enjoy using the new unit with no hassle
Note that you can share with us your experience and don’t hesitate to report bugs and issues you come across with this device or any Pocket PC. If you provide helpful hints then this will greatly help the community members. This is mainly why online forums do exist. And I am sure the supplier understands this. And this is their opportunity to get some feedback and learn from their mistakes. |

The forum provided an excellent way for me to get the manufacturer's attention. Thank you for the opportunity to sound off.
Regarding the E500, I have a picture in my mind. When I was a child I remember running down an steep hill. I started running so fast I could not keep up with my legs and I tumbled and fell. I think Everex released the E500 too soon and now they are running down that hill trying to catch up with their own legs (and product service & reliability). The device itself has some nice features and if Everex/Eten can get all the bugs out they will have a decent product. It will be unfortunate if they end up with a good product at the same time that everyone has heard bad things about them. That is a danger faced when releasing a product too early in beta version. Usually the marketing guys are pushing the engineers. Now the engineers are probably saying "I told you so!!" So far the new device does everything I ask it to do. The bugs seem to be gone from this unit. I'm not signed up yet for online access so that will be another test to come. Also, it would be nice if the optional accessories listed on the box were actually available. There is little or no information available about expansion, capabilities, etc. If you are considering buying one of these devices, don't give up yet. But I'd suggest watching this forum for positive remarks from some of us that have already bought one. Bobby |
