I met today with Mr. Mohammed Naser and Mr. Awad from FIC Group (Official Everex Distributors in the UAE). We discussed the new enhancements and added features of the new Everex E500 Pocket PC Phone. In addition, the gentlemen presented a new production unit to me in order to review it. I will talk about the new added features and enhancements they included with this device. They have added new MMS software, a better backup utility, Imaginet Pocket Arabizer, a good quality leather case, and more.

Expect the new review after I spend two weeks minimum with this device. For now you can go back to this one I posted in November 2003. Bear in mind that the unit I reviewed was just an Engineering product. The one I have with me now is the final production product.

We also discussed the possibilities of distributing the P700 Pocket PC Phone in the UAE, they are planning to bring it and they are performing various tests on this unit before it is released, I will keep you posted on this.

My testing was completed and I had some observations about the final production unit. That’s why I didn’t publish a new write-up which was suppose to give you an idea of this device after using it for two weeks.

Possibly! Provided the device maintains its price.

Some of my friends got this device and they all say: IT SUCKS!!!
Accourding to them, It is not worth buying it...
I think the cheap STN display on this device is a clear deal breaker. And the device is not that small it is think....

I've used it since GITEX. Enhanced it with a SD Wi-Fi card, so connecting to my home/office network is extremly easy. The two niggles I have are, the screen color rendition is terrible. You really find out how bad when you use MS Remote Display Control program.

The battery life, is not enough for anything except for using as a phone. Even mobile phones have better life.

Does any one know if there are any updates available and where. Everex's ME site has nothing but brochures and links going no-where.
